November 8 is the International Day of Radiology (IDoR)

Let's celebrate together!
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR) invite you to join us in celebrating the fourth annual International Day of Radiology (IDoR) on November 8.
Medical imaging is one of the most exciting and progressive disciplines in healthcare. But while x-rays, MRI scans, ultrasound and other medical imaging technologies are known to many people, their value and impact on patient care is not widely understood. That's why IDoR was launched in 2012 — to build greater awareness of radiology and the vital role radiologists play in patient care.
Why November 8?
That's the day that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered the existence of x-rays in 1895. It's the perfect time to celebrate radiology by sharing the stunning medical, scientific and artistic possibilities of medical imaging and highlighting the essential role radiologists play in countless medical scenarios.
This year the day is dedicated to pediatric radiology, recognizing the role of imaging in the detection, diagnosis and management of a wide variety of diseases affecting children. We are proud to be joined by the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), World Federation of Pediatric Imaging (WFPI), European Society of Pediatric Radiology (ESPR) and the Image Gently® Campaign in recognizing the valuable contributions radiology has made in pediatric care.
Below you'll find some helpful information and resources to help you learn more about radiology. We hope you'll join us in celebrating the important and life-saving contribution medical imaging makes to all of our lives.
